My practice explores the fluidity of paint and its ability to manipulate image whilst observing the image’s ability to manipulate the construction and formalities in painting provoking the  question: what is image and what is paint?

By exploring various levels of detail incorporated in painting, the image aims to challenge your initial perceptions. Referencing popular images and re-painting from other works further inspects the relationship between the use of media and the physical paints own fluid materiality. Painting as an instinctive act catalyses a response to an image whilst liberating painting from its formal constraint. This combination creates a static oscillation between paint and subject in a battle to retain itself. Transforming the visual within the cognitive enabling semi-logical representatives.
